Meet Aileen.
Aileen is a respected economic development strategist and coach with expertise in building strong communities. Aileen has 15 years of hands-on municipal economic development and tourism experience. She established Mellor Murray Consulting in 2009 and has provided consultation services to over 100 communities, non-profit and private sector organizations across Canada.
Aileen is a strategic thinker, skilled at identifying key issues and opportunities and clearly communicating key messages. She has a proven track record of working with councils, boards, executives and teams to successfully complete strategic plans and special projects. Aileen applies a systematic approach to complex challenges and identifies impactful solutions that are tailored to the organization’s needs.
Aileen understands the challenges facing leaders of non-profits, economic development and tourism organizations because she’s been there. She is an award-winning economic development and tourism professional with a wealth of solid relevant experience. She has worked with, and for non-profit organizations in staff, director, and chair roles to develop and achieve a shared vision.
Aileen is a certified Economic Development Professional and Fellow Ec.D(F) as awarded by the Economic Developers Association of Canada. She has advanced training in stakeholder engagement with the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).
Aileen is Past President of the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC), Past President of the Economic Developers Council of Ontario (EDCO) and Vice Chair of the Southwest Ontario Tourism Corporation (SWOTC). In 2016 Aileen was recognized with the Economic Developers’ Association of Canada President’s Award.
In her spare time Aileen is an advocate for local health care and is currently serving as the Chair of the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation.
